Great reviews (4.7 out of 5.0) over at BestBuy.com

Plentiful Reviews over at Newegg

Interesting that it is the same price almost everywhere…$70…Walmart, Sam’s, Costco, ebay, Amazon.

Tempted…but who can suggest a good option for wi-fi with this?

Thanks!

^^X^^

Does anybody know if this works with time warner cable (Turbo package)? They list SB6121 but not this one.

I just talked to a live support tech and they said this modem would work with all internet package up to 100Mbps. http://www.timewarnercable.com/en/support/internet/topics/lease-or-buy-modem.html

I have it and use it on TWC

I use a Tenda wireless router - works well, very small with internal antenna and was only $15 from MicroCenter

For the money / features the Linksys N300 (E1200) is pretty good. Should be able to find it for ~$40 new.

The featured “modem” and the aforementioned router is the exact config I set my parents up with. Now, I’m jealous. :D.

When you do a search over at Amazon.com and you find this one just below it you should see an ad stating there is a newer version of this one. That one points to this modem. Here is the Amazon page

Motorola SB6120 SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 eXtreme Broadband Cable Modem

Then I binged what cable modems work with time warner cable and came up with this page which lists this exact modem:

time warner modems so you should be good with this one and save a few bucks.

This appears to only have one ethernet connection on the back. How can you plug in a router and a cloud drive and a ooma telephone system?

You could use an splitter, or plug those into your router I would assume?

Can anyone verify this is really only good for connections up to 100 Mb/s? Think I’ll wait and snag something that can handle a bit more if that’s the case…

Just a word about using this on Comcast. Comcast is EOLing this model if it is customer-owned. Oddly, they lease this model and those are not being EOL’ed, only the customer-owned ones. They will work, and work fine, on Comcast, but you’ll get constant messages saying your modem is being EOL’ed and you need to update to a newer model.

Your router will have multiple ports on the back, so you plug the router into the modem and your other devices into the router. sexy talk!

If you use a router, the other devices plug into it.

Just bought a new one of these off Amazon the other day for use on COX. It was a wonderful improvement over the butchered wireless router/modem combo they provided. I’ve got it running through a UBNT Edgerouter x and a UniFi and I’ve noticed that many of the games I played online that would lag now play wonderfully smooth.

Would like to confirm if this will work with telephone service from Comcast too? Currently have Comcast “Triple Play” or Television, Internet and telephone service. Will this work with that? Thanks for you assistance!!

I had one of these that worked well for about a year and then had regular “communication” issues with my apple airport extreme router. It still worked fine with another router and the airport works fine with my new modem. I’ve seen several other comment threads reporting communication issues with airport routers so be aware.
