Good Reviews from Best Buy
NewEgg also has some good feedback along with BHPhotoVideo

Some great reviews (4.3 out of 5.0) over at

I bought this recently from Woot and just received it this week. This was a replacement for a prior model of this tablet that I loved, but was broken by a relative.

The one I received this week was supposedly factory reconditioned. Unfortunately it wasn’t reconditioned very well.

It has very obvious dead spots on the screen. The screen freezes and I have to close apps to unfreeze them. The screen also gets stuck and images start shaking.

I have emailed support @ woot but so far they haven’t bothered to email me back. Not sure if I would trust this product.

[MOD: Sorry for the problems. CS is swamped but working as fast as they can to answer emails.]

I’d pay a bit more for the Asus Transformer Book 32GB. Unless you’re dead set on Android, the Book has full Windows 8 and is pretty neat for only ~$50 more.

I got my 64gb from Newegg with a bunch of coupons that made it only around $357 shipped, but it seems to be out of stock now.

While I do really like Android, it’s also really nice to put whatever I want on the TA100T and have full Office.

Memory: 1GB

…are you kidding me?? Not even expandable either. No thanks.

I agree with kdccrosby. I ordered recently as a gift - decided to open it up to put a screen protector on before wrapping. When looking at the tablet the screen feels like it is about to pop off. I tried to pop it back in but it will not stay. I emailed about it as well and nothing. However, I was able to get another refurb from a different company and it is just fine. All I want is a different one sent to me. I am fine with the product - once the upgrade takes place it runs fine.

The keyboard is another story. Received that as well and there was “crud” all over it. Almost like someone was eating lunch and decided to send it out when done. Woot C/S did help with this by giving me a discount. I gladly appreciate that.

Now hopefully I can get a replacement tablet!

I noticed this for sale not to long ago:

What is the difference between the 2?

I think Woot had these on sale on a Tablet sub-sale for around $250 recently. At that time I felt it was a good price as that is what they are worth, IMHO. $300 is too high. I own both a TF300 and TF701, so I’m pretty familiar with the spec trade-offs between Transformer levels. The biggest problem here is that the Tegra 3 processor has problems dealing with the high resolution screen and the limited 1 GB RAM doesn’t bode well for future proofing.

Why would anyone get this over the Asus T100 running Bay Trail and full Win 8.1 with free MS Office Home and Student?

I have this tablet and dock combo, and I really like it. If you get this, please consider unlocking and installing Cromi-x Cleanrom. It’s a highly optimized ROM based on stock and it simply makes the tablet fly.

Really has enhanced the experience and extended the life of the tab for me.

Buy on Ebay, pick up at Best Buy. Get a brand new, not-refurb, higher model Transformer for $299.00

Thanks for getting me to look by your post.

I doubt these are that bad. A lot of the Asus refurbs you see are actually refurbished by Asus themselves, Woot, Buydig, etc. have nothing to do with the process aside from buying them from Asus and then re-selling.

I bought this same tablet one year ago, refurbished, from WOOT. It’s been great! I like the speed, the screen, the android apps, and the keyboard. The tablet has been a great travel companion because it will do most anything my laptop will do and is much smaller. I bought one for a daughter-in-law and for a retirement gift for a best buddy. They both love the ASUS tablet too. If you buy, be sure and visit the ASUS Transformer Forum because they can help you learn everything you need to know about using your new toy/tool.

Link does not show any product on Ebay.

Anyone know if upgradable to 4.4(KitKat, break me off a piece of that KitKat bar!)
Says it is loaded with
Android 4.0(IceCream Sandwich)

Would like to move to the latest.

I believe you are mistaking RAM (1GB) and ROM (32GB) as no tablet that I have ever seen has expandable RAM. This does have expandable ROM.
