I would buy one if I knew the version of Chrome OS this came with, and was upgradeable to so that I could use Google Play Store. You need at least Chrome OS ver 53.
I am not an expert, but it is my understanding (used to have a chromebox) that chromeos updates automatically for all devices. So unless there is some sort of block for this process on older devices (due to hardware limitations) I don’t think you would have to worry about having an older version.
