Wireless Networking Jan 2017 Mail-In Rebate – U.S.

Have this acquired about 2 years ago from a different source. Works great as a repeater/ranger extender, extra access point, or even as a network card. Have used it in all three modes. It is very easy to setup, but you do require a PC (with ethernet port). Have a two-story structure, router’s downstairs, but even when place on top of shelf, can’t quite cover entire upstairs. With this as a repeater there are no more dead spots upstairs.

Woot shipped EA-N66R instead of EA-N66. Also, the UPC codes are different. I don’t think this item is eligible for the rebate.

If that’s the case then they better take a return. “R” designation usually means a refurb. The one I purchased explicitly had no “R” and was listed as new.

I got a big fat “R” as well. I am probably going to return it now. Wish me luck. I don’t need another wireless router that cost me 55 bucks. For 5 bucks (with tax and shipping) it was worth having as a backup.

i also got the N66R. On the product page and order page, it clearly says it should be N66 and the condition is “New”. So i definitely need to return it. This is whole misleading.

We have gotten confirmation directly from Asus that EA-N66R & EA-N66 are exactly the same. The “R” designates retail, not refurbished.

The listing was for the EA-66 which is eligible for a rebate from Asus. Asus is not offering a rebate for the EA-66R. I know I only bought this because it was listed as the version eligible for a rebate.

Not getting correct refund.
Paid $53 - 10 coupon.
Refunded 32.
Creditcard Charged $11

I’m sorry about that. I think there’s a kink in our system when there’s a coupon involved. I’ll send a note to CS.
