Asus MeMO Pad 10.1" Full-HD 16GB Tablet

Can you use a pen with this?

This looked like a decent deal until I saw this: Android Jelly Bean 4.2…

Only 4 major releases behind…

More.

Ignoring Jelly Bean (4.3), you still had Kit Kat, Lollypop, Marshmallow, Nougat, Oreo, and now we are up to Pie.

They must have found a hidden pallet.

Anybody a little tech savvy can install Cyanogen to upgrade it. https://www.getdroidtips.com/lineage-os-14-1-asus-memo-pad-fdh-10-lte/

Thanks for the link - can’t believe it is really that easy, but it brings it up to Nougat. Hmm…

Can I install Windows on it?

After looking around, there is even an Oreo Lineage build available that was updated at the end of 2018 and by all accounts running very well. If you are into that kind of thing a really good deal for a 10 inch FHD tablet. If I wasn’t broke I’d bite on it. Might have to dig around for the unlock bootloader apk.

This has the same processor as the Nexus 7 tablet. I’m running an Android 7.0 Nougat ROM on my Nexus 7 and it runs beautifully. Still quick and responsive. For someone will a little bit of savvy, this is a great buy.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the ASUS website has the unlock apk for the ME302KL anymore. Not sure where else to find it.

Looks like it is available at File ME302KL_UnlockTool_Instruction.zip — Application & Utility for Asus MeMO Pad FHD 10 LTE
But, I have never used the site so not sure.
Would be nice to have a cheap tablet that has a decently up to date version of Android. I have an Acer that I bought and unlocked 2-3 years ago with the expectation that there would be a build available for it. There never was and it is still running ok with 4.4.2, but it would be nice to have some of the newer features.

Which Nexus 7?

I’m running a Pie ROM on my 2013 version.

I was about to jump on this, but functionally speaking, my dual boot 2011 HP Touchpad with Cyanogen Android is just as good (though this has a nicer display).

How many I ask?

How many whats?

Released 6 years ago in 2013. Woot are you sure these shouldn’t have been stuffers for a Bag of Crap?

You don’t want to buy this. Honestly. I had one. Suddenly one day it just quit turning on. It is slow and clunky. It is really a poor tablet. It isn’t worth $5.
