ASUS Transformer Book 10.1" 64GB Tablet

Just purchased one of these and am really looking forward to trying it out. I’ve seen some speculation on being able to add a hard drive to the base on some of these models, and it seems like this one probably doesn’t have the option, but I was wondering if that could be confirmed one way or the other by someone who has this specific model?

Also, the new out of the box versions of this came with office, but I’ve read the refurb models do not. Again, can anyone confirm that?

Last, I see it is eligible for the windows 10 upgrade, is it possible to install the 64-bit edition?

64 bit isn’t possible on these because of some driver (connected standby related) that doesn’t exist for the Atom platform.

My refurb (the slightly older version of this tablet from a year or two ago) came with the Office key.

Mine also did not have any way to add a HDD to the base, but the base with the HDD (if you can find one) will work with the tablet.

I’m super tempted to upgrade to this one since the turbo clock is nearly 50% higher, and mine will sit at the max turbo clock (1.86 GHz) even running Linpack. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for the info! I guess I should have looked closer for the part that said x86. Have you upgraded to Windows 10 yet, and if so does it take away from the performance at all?

Again, thanks for the info!

has anyone determined if ms office is included?

Does the base you are talking about with the HDD have a specific part #?

I just got one - No office

We state that it is not. Reality is that if the previous owner didn’t register it, you might get office.

Hmm… Anyone know where to get another one of these? Ordered one and Woot refunded me.

Does anyone know how to upgrade to windows 10 with this? I’ve been looking to do so but can’t figure it out.

Make sure you’re on Windows 8.1 and make sure you have all of the updates installed. One of the updates includes a “Get Windows 10” app which will allow you to reserve Windows 10 and you should be able to download it after a day or so.
