Is it just me, or is anyone else at all concerned that mild dyslexics will take that S for an N in this company’s name? It’s doubly bad that it’s a hyrid of a** and a*us.

At work I could see writing a (quickly-read) email: “Guys, my Asus is doing great work today! or, my Asus was overused and needs repair.” Clients and directors would never look at me the same way again.

Galaxy was a much better marketing choice for naming.

Asus is the manufacturer of the Transformer. Samsung is the manufacturer of the Galaxy. For your example above, you would say “my Transformer”, or “my Galaxy”. And dyslexia has nothing to do with writing the wrong word altogether. Thats just a mental mistake.

I have this tablet in a different model, the t700 and it’s a great buy! I spent almost $400 for the tablet and the keyboard dock, so if you can get the keyboard dock cheap, DO IT!

Perfect price … if it was new. How reliable are Asus refurbs and customer support?

I’m guessing the “IR blaster” that allows you to use the tablet as a remote is a Samsung exclusive. Is there an app you can download that allows you to do something similar as use the device as a universal remote?

I didn’t see which App store (Google Play, GetJar, etc) this tablet has access to…and the SquareTrade being offered…does it include Accidental Spill/Drop…and can I get a 2 yr coverage? I can be clumsy at times…

If you spent less than $400 on a TF700T you got a serious deal. Your tablet has 1920x1200 resolution vs 1280x800 for this tablet, higher clocked processor and slightly higher capacity battery. Today’s deal is decent and this is a really nice tablet and you always have the dock option with transformers, but the TF700T is a deal at $400. I have the original Transformer with the Tegra 2 and still like it, I got it when it just came out and together with the dock cost almost $600. So don’t feel bad about spending that 400 bones.

Not exactly the case, my Xoom WiFi type got the jelly beam update the same time Nexus came out with it.

The Xoom has jellybean 4.1. This had 4.1, and is now on 4.2; which brings a nexus style 4.2 launcher, and multiple user sign in. This is great for families now- way better than the iPad. It is also supposed to get the cool “photosphere” camera, but I can’t find it anywhere. Help!

Otherwise, its a great family tablet.

The “BL” that is tagged onto the model number tells us it is Asus Blue (and a very dark blue it is).

This is Google Play for you app store. All the real tablet manufacturers use Google Play: Asus, Acer, Motorola, Toshiba, Samsung…

Here is a 3yr accident protection plan for $90, you could probably search and see if other stuff is offered.

$10 cheaper… for half the size. The $259 refurb’d on Newegg is a 16GB. There are refurb’d 32GB available for the same exact price as here.

Kind of makes me wonder how many of woot’s “deals” are really deals when other websites are offering regular prices that are lower. Either that or some company is making money buying stuff off newegg then selling it to woot as a “discounted” item.

I just purchased this exact model (refurbed) from, of all places, Walmart.com for $10 more.
The advantages I had there was 1) free shipping, and 2) the option to buy their extended warranty for 2 yrs at $36. It even included drop and spill coverage.
I have had absolutely no issues with it, and I use it constantly.

Actually, the one you had linked to has a Tegra 2 instead of Woot’s Tegra 3.

The one you linked to is also on Honeycomb and not Jellybean.

You picked the wrong item. The one that you are linking to is the 1st generation Tegra 2. Look at my post and you will see the correct item linked. It is actually $5 dollars less on Newegg because of free shipping.

That’s a reasonable guess, but the champagne one was also listed on Woot as ASUS TF7300T BL and the color (champagne) was added.
