Read several net reviews before you decide to purchase this. Price reduction seems to fit the performance compared to units with better screens/processors. BTW ASUS is not “junk” and we just purchased a second ASUS (Zen Book) after 3+ years of dependable service from our last ASUS laptop.
I’ve had 3 Acer’s not one problem. I’ve had Asus tablet and pc both were pita junk, lasted just past warranty then died, that’s after they were sent in and fixed.
Asus’ product quality has been declining for years. They were awesome in the early to mid 2000s, but I’ve had nothing but problems from everything I’ve bought from them since 2010. Steer clear.
If you’re buying the low end of anything this kind of applies. I switched all of my work stuff from Dell to Asus and I don’t regret it. But I’m not buying their low end consumer stuff.
Please put these computers in the computers section. Tired of 5 out of 7 days being some kind of computer offered on the woot main page. I miss the old woot…
Asus “consumer grade” laptop 4 years and running with not. one. issue. Runs Windows 10, runs Photoshop… Needs more RAM, but that’s because I haven’t made it a priority. Best computer I’ve had. But then I’m a no porn, no gambling, no gaming computer person so there’s not much residual crap mucking it up either
I don’t understand the new common core, but looking at the past 8 days I see:
power tools, tablet, vacuums, laptop, iphones, umbrellas, shoes, laptop
That’s 3 of the last 8 which were computerry, or 3 of the last 7. Given we have 5 top level specific categories, that seems pretty in-line.
Going back to the previous week, I see a Kindle Fire, a smart watch, a few computers that kept selling out, a dehumidifier, a sprinkler controller, and a soundbar. I miss the old Woot too, but I didn’t buy a lot from it either other than shirts and the occasional bluetooth headset. What kinds of products would you like to see more of in here?
My vote would be for things Woot used to sell regularly, like LeakFrogs, toilet handles that lit up, rotating lights, USB LED light strings, those kinds of things.
