Wonder if my dell supports this.
There are some reviews on Alatest.com
I learned the hard way - make sure you have access to good broadcast stations in your area before you buy one of these.
Here is the manufacturer’s site: http://www.amd.com/us/products/pctv/tv-wonder-tuners/Pages/tv-wonder-tv-tuners-for-the-pc.aspx
I would really like this, but my only desktop computer is running Linux. Does anyone know if this will be compatible? Even if it isn’t, I’m tempted to buy one now for when I get the money to build a new computer (which will run Windows)
WHOOPS!!! someone at woot had a typo with the models of this item
does it come with a remote? is it compatible with nVidia GTX cards? what if i have USB speakers and no sound card, will it still work?
I have an old (4.5 year old) PCI version of this card. It is horrible, bad reception and absolutely horrible software. I have had far better mileage with the $25 USB HDTV sticks you find on here (although they’re not great either).
Have USB and PCI, No Windows 7 drivers until the first quarter of 2010, but no guarantees.
Kinda not comforting…
These are expensive according to froogle. In for one.
FYI: the PCI version of this card is actually the better one, as it has a hardware MPEG-2 encoder, which allows it to record analog video more reliably/smoothly and reducing CPU power needed.
On the other hand, if you want to try and hook up a game console, the PCIe version should give you better response due to no HW encoder lag (THOUGH you should be able to find an app that will let you bypass the HW encoder on the PCI version).
Damn - $20 for a hybrid card with HW encoding… unfair that I have to use DVB-T over here.
I used to have one of these, was nice not having to turn to look at the tv. Mine had a bit of a lag though so video games couldn’t really be played on them. =(
650 retail is $67
600 retail is $75
good deal if you want 1 or 3!
$57.92 for the 600 on Amazon.
I have this. Works great. The clear qam is beautiful.
Will this do anything at all in terms of getting a satellite (Dish Network or DirecTV) signal into a PC?
