Not really knowing the current rules on internet taxation, I was curious as to why my purchase was taxed at the maximum rate for my state, not only on the item, which shipped from IN to my home in GA, but also on the $5 shipping cost itself. Even in the most aggressive online tax circumstances, I haven’t seen that much levied before… Is this a new revenue enhancer for Woot?
Effective September 1, 2013, Woot, Inc. was required to begin collecting sales tax on orders shipped to destinations in Georgia.
