Bamboo Knife Dock

This will save me from losing a finger digging through my knife drawer!

BTW, the other material is Cork… Not just bamboo.

Can someone explain the “cork like” dividers? If it’s not real cork, doesn’t that sort of negate the renewability of the bamboo?

Anyone else think it was a doorbell chime at first glance?

This made a world of difference in our utility drawer. Yes, we have a knife block. Yes, we have more knives than our knife block handles. Yes, this handles all the knives we don’t have in our knife block and does it well. No scrapes, no cut fingers, and best of all, less sharpening for knives dulled by rattling up against other utility ware in the drawer.

Oh, and it looks really awesome.

Here in California, we call them earthquake bells.

The main reason I have my knives on the counter is because they come with a crappy presized holder. This looks like it would hold a variety of sizes safely. It is visually appealing as well. Very nice.

Same dock at the Container Store for $29.99- HERE

I have one of these I bought at The Container Store on sale.

Oops, someone beat me to it.

I found a better description:
“Eco-friendly rubberized bamboo slats fill the tray and bottom to protect each kitchen knife”

at: http://reviews.chefscatalog.com/8855/27175/bamboo-knife-dock-storage-tray-reviews/reviews.htm?sort=rating&dir=asc

I have no idea what they did to the bamboo to make it “rubberized” though.

Am I the only one who’s discovered the wonder of drawers for knife storage?

Amazon sells it $29.99+$7.99 for shipping. No prime option as it’s through another company. The company’s customers don’t seem to have the passion of Wooters, though.

Does this work well though? At that Amazon link, one of the vertical cork pieces looks like it’s broken already!

Seems like it would be more durable and cheaper to just buy another empty knife block for the counter?

Convince me otherwise, and I’ll buy 3.

Ooooo, this looks perfect for holding my zebra and cheetah woot knives!!

I bet this wouldn’t work well with serrated knives.

This is being bought??? I have a stick with a string attached that sells for only 9.99.

Apparently, I am knife happy. There is no way this thing would hold ALL the knives that don’t fit in the knife block. I use a bread loaf sized basket for all the rest. LOL

With all you people keeping knives loose in drawers, no wonder the sharpeners sell out every time on Woot.
