This radio is only certified for amateur radio use. Using this for other services, like FRS or MURS, is technically illegal. I hope there are some hams on here…

It is illegal in the US to push the transmit button, but when SHTF and you need help, let them come get you, lol.

If you got these, please take a day or two to take a class, study, and pass the Technician exam to be able to legally use them. It’s super easy now that there is no Morse code requirement.
