Sitcom = Situation + comedy
Comedy died in early 2000s. 2000+, you only have situations.

Seeing this gif reminds me of Wynn Duffy of Justified. Justified was some ok 2010+ television. It was not situational comedy, but it had some fine points of comedy mixed in with fun plotlines.

Like Sanford and Sons it had lots of wry humor but also found a way to celebrate the biggest positives about American culture.
