Next time, can you please specify the time zone of these meetings?
I KNOW you’re just on the next street; I still don’t know in what time ZONE you want to meet. Don’t blame me, man, that one IS your fault. Jeez.
Not if everyone else is on time and the meeting goes on without you. Eventually, you are looked upon as not very bright - even if it was an equipment issue. No one cares if you missed critical information or brings you up to speed. Reality is brutal and if it is a cutthroat environment, one step towards the door.
Best excuse is you were in another meeting. These days, even on Zoom, meetings are back to back and sometimes that “Can I buzz you real quick?” call us 45 minutes. But the truth of the matter is I was napping. If you schedule a meeting before 10am, I might be asleep. The hours of 11:30 - 1:30pm abutt the noon lunch hour, might be having a lunch nap. And at 4:30pm don’t even try it, having an after-work nap.
VoIP?
I’m online with IT, but they have a few questions…
This is so annoying. Especially when people start an online meeting early. There is no reason to show up 5 minutes before the start time of a virtual meeting. I join right at 2pm and everyone else has been there for a few minutes. So I would have to leave the previous meeting early to be “on time”…
My flight was late…
Join code didn’t work.
Meeting was full.
An old friend stopped by from out of town.
IT WAS NOT MY FAULT!!
Sorry I’m late, I didn’t wanna come.
I wish I could reply to all you weirdos who think stuck in traffic or out of gas is the logical excuse for a video meeting.
It’s online, why are you not just pulled over and on the conference?
My internet connection is down.
Outlook popped up the reminder UNDER the 20 some odd windows I have open.
Edit - Ok, there’s a bit more to it than that. If Outlook pops up a reminder and you do not acknowledge or close out the reminder, it will stay there and allow itself to be covered with other windows as you continue working. So long as the reminder is left open, Outlook will not attempt to bring the reminder back to the top at the usual reminder intervals.
True story bro.
Had terrible internet last week when WFH. Disconnecting every 5 minutes.
I called the local provider, they came out the next day.
There was a family of mice in the housing on the pole across the street.
Blame it on NIMH.
Microsoft Teams is wonky.
Pro tip: don’t blame your home internet service as this gives reason to force you to come work at the office.
Damn Diarrhea!
Internet down
Because I’m retired. Also I wasn’t a cubicle rat.
