I agree, @yosefa, but alas, voice calls have become literally a “personal intrusion on ones time.” Explicitly labeled as such by a generation that prefers texting and choice of whether to even reply to family members.
We have become so busy in work and life that calling is literally considered by some to be rude.
This culture shift is by choice. It was not taught nor recommended. It already has consequences. Depression, feelings of isolation, stress levels, and even passive suicidality are at an all time high per our licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs).
