I’ve got one of these drills, bought a couple of years ago from Lowes.

For normal household jobs, this is perfect. I grab it a couple of times a week for everything from driving screws to hang a bit of drywall, to drilling in everything including 3/8" holes in steel. It’s marvelous having a drill that, if you don’t touch it for a month, still has a full charge in the battery, and can handle driving forty 2" screws into 2x4’s. It’s not quite the drill that the $150 DeWalt’s are, but if you’re not a professional carpenter you’ll never notice. Highly recommended.

OK, I looked around and I think there may be a better deal or the BBD as we like to call it. (the Bigger Better Deal!), especially if you have a ton of cheap drill bits already. This version here will run you $64.99 inclthe $5 shipping. If you have PRIME you can get this one with some better accs for $69.99 shipped. In general these 20v Li Ion tools from Black and Decker seem to be pretty good. I own and can recommend the drill/driver, the hedge trimmer, the blower, the circular saw, and the recip. saw. The batteries will go for a long time with light use, a decent run time with heavy use. You need at least two batteries. They charge quickly and hold a charge forever.

Just one caution - the drill seems to come in about three different versions, which are slightly different. Probably for marketing reasons. I don’t know if the internals are the same or different. You want to be sure you’re getting the one with two speeds and the multi position clutch. Which this one seems to be. As for price, I would say this is a decent price, not exceptional. Depends on the quality of the drill bits.

If you want to get into a multi tool system that uses a good battery set, this drill and the others I mentioned are great for light household use. These are not professional carpenter tools. They are light duty homeowner tools.

I have this and its great for DIY though I have never had a higher-end drill to compare to. This is like buying a battery for 50$ and getting a drill and accessories for ~15$ more. Also, if you have other 20v MAX tools this is great.

So…is this drill 3/8 or 1/2inch

Specs online for model BDC120VA100 show a 3/8 in chuck.

Seems to be the same price , plus free shipping, and a 2 yr warranty instead of 90 days, but maybe no case.

3/8”

So, I sent this Drill to my son, and he is happy with it, but it did Not come as shown. It had a soft Black case, and all the bits were loose in the bag in little sleeves, but loose none the less. It does Not come in this hard shell case as shown. Would have been nice to know that. I think the hard sell case is better, protects the drill as well as the bits…
