Is the 14.4V “Slide Pack” battery that comes with this drill the same as/compatible with the 14.4V Firestorm batteries? If so, this might be worth it for the battery and the charger alone.

Yes, this is compatible with 14.4V Firestorm - just bought this a few weeks ago and the battery charged just fine in my old Firestorm charger. Note that this does NOT include a charging base - the charging/power cord plugs right into the drill. And, the drill does not have a high-gear/low gear switch. Still, a very serviceable 3rd drill/driver for my projects - and another 14.4 battery for convenience. Plus a stud finder as a little bonus!
