Amazon’s reviews are full of complaints about this model’s poor battery life.

According to Amazon, this model has been replaced by a model with lithium ion batteries, which should not have the charging problems that the nicads have. So, for $10 more, you can get a better product. There is a 2 year B&D warranty on this product, but you would need to ship it back to B&D.

Great advice! And done

I just threw one of these away last week. I had it for about a year and the battery life has always been awful. It started out with maybe a minute or so of battery life and had wound down to under 30 seconds of actual time it could suck something up by the end of its days. In summary, it’s basically a useless piece of junk, but if you have $30 burning a hole in your pocket, this could be a good option for you.

I second the comments about battery life. I got this from Amazon and it lasted less than a year before the battery wouldn’t hold a charge anymore. And I did everything you’re supposed to do with NiCad batteries to preserve the charge.

Don’t ever buy anything that uses NiCd batteries!!!
Not long after starting to use it, it will last only a minute or less per charge. NiCd is old technology that should not be sold. It is “planned obsolescence.”
I have a similar Dustbuster, but with Lithium Ion batteries and it retains full power as long as I need it and I know I won’t be replacing it with a new one every year as it becomes useless. It’s much cheaper to buy the higher priced model over the long haul.

Incidentally, I have had a similar experience with electric screwdrivers and drills.

DO NOT BUY! Nicad batteries= junk. Much better technology available now. Go to Amazon or similar and spend 40 or $45 on the more modern version with the flip up flip down nozzle and you will thank me for years from now. These batteries will be crap in about one year.
