I can honestly say I have had one of these for years and they are amazing for making everything. I orignally bought it for making smoothies, milkshakes, and ice creams. These days I got almost 600 blends on it and it still works like a charm. I made a soup in it just the other day. I paid $350 at costco for the black model with a small jar. They sell for $330 today with the large jar at costco. The main thing is the blender is powerful, easy to clean, and has a crazy good warranty. (7 years, replacement and all) They also won a lawsuit against Vitamix, the other big top tier blender manufacturer. Apparently Vitamix stole their jar design. They gave away a bunch of jars for free. I got a large jar, just for owning a blender already. Lastly, I got the twister and twister mini jar for christmas. I didn’t get a spatula or bottle with my blender, so I would say this is a great deal. That being said if you want to hold out, you can always get them without the spatular and bottle from costco for $330.
I have used other Blentec products (grain mill) with good results.
They were able to supply me with a missing part at a reasonable price, so they stand behind what they sell.
A really decent blender will be a lifetime item and will be used more than the $19.95 one at the big box store. I happen to have an older Vitamix, but this model seems as if it is worthy competition.
As a master electrician I can say the claim to 3 horsepower is false this has a max of 3/4 horsepower according to its 13 amp rating. A 3 horsepower motor pulls 34 amps at 115 volts and would require a 50 amp circuit. This looks like a good blender by all the videos I have seen so why lie about this?
