These cameras are a worthy replacement for the Arlo essential spotlight cameras I had prior. Similar feature set, MUCH better price for the cameras, and the option to do local storage and not pay a monthly premium for service.
However..: batteries (even the top shelf lithium they require) do burn out after a couple of months. Also, the ones I received from woot refurbished were disgusting: they had hair and dirt all over them. CS made it right immediately, but just a heads up.
Can these be added to an existing Blink system? I have a 3-camera set up now.
They’re the same. The inventory is in multiple SKUs and the Woot system doesn’t combine them.
(Please Note: I’m not employed by Woot, but I volunteer to help in the forums.)
This is a complete system with a Sync module but I believe you can.
Thank you @pepper114
Yes, that’s what I did. Now I have an extra module.
It looks like amazon has the whole enchilada for $94.
That’s the doorbell, the sync module XR and a couple of cameras.
The video doorbell looks like the newer model because the push button is oval instead of round, but I don’t know much about these things.
Yes., as long as you do not already have the maximum of 10 cameras per sync module.
I ordered this system when Woot! had them before and deleted my oldest XT2 camera and added one of these in its place (connecting to my old original sync module).
I have one of these cameras Outdoor 4 and I use it indoors. I connected a USB C charger to it, not the one from blink that maintains the waterproof rating but instead a generic one that makes it no longer usable outside. It’s working well. I prefer to not rely on batteries in my blink cameras.
Say whaaaat? I have a bunch of Blink3s so battery life is no issue (lithiums last years in there), but that is a feature that could come in handy. I use one to remotely check on the temperature indoors when I am away in the winter that I’d love to just plug in!
Does Blink 4 have the cable port on the outside? I had to look: on my 3s it is inside by the batteries. Never even noticed it lol. On 3s it’s a micro-usb.
Or is that the reason you say it is no longer waterproof… because you are not using it sealed up?
On my 4 the usb c port is accessed by removing a largish rubber thing from the back. Blink makes a special cord that fits the huge opening to keep the camera water proof.
Got my Blink system in, tried to set it up to my existing system. I keep getting the message that it is already registered to someone else. How do I reset them so that I can add them to my system?
Sounds like it was reset properly. Reach out to Woot! You can ask for a replacement if available.
