So, these cost 69+(120/yr.)?

Can they be used with only Wi-Fi like the ring doorbells used to?

We really need products that you can record on your computer through Wi-Fi without needing a costly app subscription.

Pretty sure that’s what the sync module does that’s included with this.

“ Store video clips and photos in the cloud with the Blink Subscription Plan and save events locally to the Blink Sync Module 2 via a USB flash drive (sold separately)”

Yes, just add a thumb drive to the sync module for local storage.

I have a system now. No subscription bc it’s an older version. Can I add these cameras to my system?

Yes you can. I have the older system and the grandfathered plan and I’ve added these newer cameras with no issues.

Do these new model individual cameras have an advantage over the old models xt2 when added to an old existing system?

Unless you are committed to paying the monthly fee, AVIOD AT ALL COSTS. Sync module barely works, maybe 25% of the time it records. Cannot record live viewings either without the monthly plan. Been a couple of times I needed a recording and it just did not record. Notifications are also almost not existent with sync module. Again, maybe you will get 25% of the notifications, and good luck if any of those recorded. Could not be more disappointed with these cameras.

Based on my experience, I purchased an entire setup last December, the only thing you stated that I agree with is that you can’t record while viewing live w/o a subscription. Meaning if you decide to drop in randomly and check out what’s going on you will not be able to record. However, when the motion detection catches an event it does record that. They’re not awesome, but they do the job. I do wish I had spent a bit more and went with the Ring package though. But, oh well, these work.

Are these returnable?

If I buy multiple sets today, can they all be added together using one 1 sync module?

10 cameras can be added to one sync module. If you buy multiple sets, you will end up with more sync modules than you need.

Actually, you might run into an issue with it. I had an older XT2 system, and bought a newer Outdoor system to expand. As soon as I added it the Outdoor system, Blink tried to sell me on a subscription for ALL cameras. I now essentially have two systems in my house. I have the older ‘grandfathered’ XT2 system, and I have the local storage only Outdoor system.
They behave differently in the app as well. When I get a push notice from an XT2 camera, clicking the notice brings me to the clip. Clicking a notice from an Outdoor camera takes me straight to live view.

We bought the package from costco with 2 outdoor cams, an indoor cam, a flood light cam, and a doorbell.

The system records well enough, though these could do with better night vision. They get the dome reflection from the cam cover, causing a halo effect.

Though they could be used to record locally, we use the app with a sub because viewing locally saved recordings is difficult.

Anyway, the sub is 10 per month or 100 per year if bought at once. Sucks, but worth it for us. So we can watch every single car that goes past our house.

Can these be interfaced with third-party software such as ZoneMinder?

Blink cams aren’t on the Zoneminder compatibility list. They appear to only work with Alexa devices and IFTTT.

My experience is nothing like yours.

If I needed two Blink Outdoor cameras, I’d certainly consider this offer.

Yes. I have a legacy account and it lets me add cameras to my free account.
