I don’t get it. I mean, I get it – it’s a Weeping Angel from the episode Don’t Blink. But it feels like the creator only knows those two facts about the show.
I’m a massive fan of Dr. Who. I know lots of facts, rest assured. The contest was about first world problems, and I wanted to do a joke about selfies.

That’s what I was trying to get at. It has all the elements of a joke but they don’t form a punchline.
Yep, it’s more for the irony about blinking in a selfie than a joke about the angels themselves. You have to admit, it WOULD be hard for an angel to take a selfie. The image of an angel becomes an angel, and if she didn’t cover her eyes, she’d be frozen. 
See that I would get.
