Taking everyone’s word for it that this is a GunBun wine and linking to that entry in CellarTracker (above).

I guess the “lucky number” clue meant the opposite.

Winery website

Some info on the 2005 vintage here.
Some info on the 2004 vintage here. And from K&L here.

I was hoping for lucky number Polyphemus.

I haven’t heard of this stuff and I am overflowing with wine. As usual though, the rats could change my mind.

How good is this deal?

Pricing on this one is hard to do as this does not appear to be sold directly from the winery.

While the math is easy on this offer, I am posting the spreadsheet anyway.

This one is going to require some rats before I pull the trigger.

May be the best QPR this year.

WD

shrug Only Cab I have is the Wellington 2004, so this is both inexpensive and hopefully decent. Also wanted to drink Cab lately, as I don’t remember how long it’s been. Available for rattage, and will answer the call if it is given.

In for one.

Something that the description does not say is that Block 13 is a Gun-Bun wine.

Full name
Gundlach Bundschu Block 13 Cabernet Sauvignon

Hmmmmm…we need more info !

Though WD’s words re QPR are to be given very serious weight.

Damn you WD and your unofficial rat report. It is only $12.50 a bottle… No! Rats. I need the real rats.

this is Gundlach Bundschu’s ‘second’ label IIRC.

EDIT: GunBun was an rpm tour stop.

EDIT^2: confirmed (somewhat): Block 13 is GunBun’s line of wines made from bought-in (as opposed to Estate grown) grapes.

Is the vintage suspiciously absent from the description, or have I already been drinking too much tonight?

If I squint I think I can read a “2005” in the large photo, but not sure that’s binding.

Affordable cab? Sign me up! And I’d love to rat!

Petite Verdot is spelled wrong in the description:

Block 13 Cabernet Sauvignon:

97% Cabernet Sauvignon
2% Pitite Verdot
1% Cabernet Franc
4,694 cases produced

Probably both.

well, it is such a pitiful amount of PV, that you can understand the source of the error! :stuck_out_tongue:

Vintage is missing from the description, I can pretty clearly read “2005” as the vintage.

And they don’t appear to be available from the GunBun website. Nor am I finding an alternate site for this label. Anyone else got anything?
