ahhh … found it
every 6 months
and between $80 and $150 every 6 months, depending on the level of filtration you desire … if I read that right
I’m a little confused… they show 3 filters, and talk about the unit coming with 3 filters…
but I’m not sure if the prices above are a 3-pack, good for 3 filter changes? or if the unit stacks 3 filters???
so… not sure if that is a price per 18 months… or per 6 months?
I’ve had this in my house for years. We keep it in the kids’ room during allergy season, helping them get a decent night’s rest so they can concentrate during the day.
During the day, we run it on high, while nobody’s home, basically making a fairly pollen-free area in their room. We turn it down to low at night. Compared to the nights when we don’t run it…night and day
It’s a darn good filter, btw. We’ve two spare filters waiting in the wings, but frankly, the original filter has been effective for us way past it’s recommended replacement cycle. maybe next year we’ll swap one of those replacements in.
On the Blueair site, they’re offering refurbished options for $350…free shipping & no tax. It looks like Woot!'s offering it for $330…$5 shipping. Woot!'s still the better deal, and put the deal in front of your face, whereas you’d never have seen it if you weren’t already on the blueair site. Normally this is $460 bucks. I would have liked to have had the woot deal when I bought it.
I have no tax from the manufacture (tax doesn’t go away until you enter your shipping address, in a state they don’t charge in) but I do here.
So in reality it is still $25.10 more here after tax and shipping than direct from the manufacture for me.
I remember when the deals here blew away any price you could ever find anywhere else… you know, back when they sold one item per day. Ahhh… member-berries!
I have had one of these for years and years. Used to buy the filters at Costco, but found Bed Bath & Beyond with the online 20% coupon is the best price (free shipping since the price is below their $30 min). And yes…they come in a 3 pack and the price you’ll see is a 3 pack (3 pack is one use for 6 months–costco sells a year worth (2 three packs)).
Oh, and by the way, the filters are pretty much the easiest things to swap out. Takes 3 seconds (you lift the top cover off and one filter is laying right there horizontally, the other two are vertical and you just lift them out as well and slide in all three new ones). VERY simple!
This machine has been a lifesaver for my husband. His seasonal allergies are horrible (we live in CA) and I keep this in our bedroom 24/7. I honestly think we’ve had our machine 8 years (might not be this exact model, but it’s a 500 series model and I think they’re all pretty much the same). Great product! It’s quiet too!
