Somebody needs to pick up that food processor. I got mine here for a little more over two years ago and it’s been FANTASTIC. Check the reviews, it’s the best consumer food processor out there and usually more than 2x the price. Highly recommended.
Disappointed I missed the grill. I have one of their smart ovens and I use it regularly for cooking pretty much everything. I think I’ve used my household oven once in almost 2 years, and it was only because the breville was in use for something else. They have good stuff.
I purchased this Breville grill as an upgrade to ole George and it outperformed it in every way imaginable. Then Amazon had a too good to pass up deal on a Cuisinart GR-300WS Griddler Elite Grill. I figured if I didn’t like it I would pass it on. As it turns out, the Cuisinart is now my go to grill while the Breville collects dust. The Breville’s grills aren’t reversible, so if you want the top & bottom grills surface to match, you have to purchase an extra grill, which is quite pricey. The grills on Cusininart are controlled independently, too. Handy for when you cook foods requiring different temps. The Breville will heat both grills to the same temp.
As far as cleanup goes, they both have the issue of getting drippings on the back of the grill when opening the grill, however the Cusiniart does have a tray that spans the width of the grill, whereas the Breville does not.
I have the microwave and it is very nice. Has lots of smart settings that are very accurate. makes perfect popcorn and has a nice setting that perfectly makes a stick of cold butter spreadable. You have to get used to the dial over a keypad, but it’s only a minor inconvenience in the beginning.
My Cusiniart grill coatings began flaking off with a year of mild use. I am becoming much more aware of wide variations in quality of Chinese appliances from one unit to the next. This explains in part why one person gives rave reviews and the next says it is garbage.
The worst are the companies with no oversight of the production process, they just order 'em with their name slapped on. An, off course, “once famous” names now just licensed out are the worst offenders.
I followed the saga of the high-precision “Handground” crank coffee bean burr grinder on Kickstarter and was amazed at the inconsistency of parts they had to deal with with, even though they were overseeing the project in China closely.
If you’re on the fence about buying the food processor jump off and buy it. I spent $400 on this a couple of years ago elsewhere. It has a very powerful motor and Breville customer service is outstanding. I was excited to see the Breville products here but unfortunately they don’t have the mixer which is what I’m buying next. Eventually I will probably replace all or most of my small appliances with Breville.
sheesh, kudos to anyone who got the sous chef food processor, the best small kitchen appliance ever made.
