Brother Compact Color Desktop Scanner - Wireless

From the write up “This is a scanner that comes with a free printer. ORRRR this is a printer that comes with a free scanner…”
I think it’s just a scanner.

But the other Brother (from the same mother…company) with the free printer for $20 less has:
Scanner Type: Color Scanning
Optical Resolution: 600 x 2400 dpi
Max Interpolated Scan Up to 19200 x 19200 dpi

Compared to this:
Scanner Type: Color Scanning
Optical Resolution: 600 x 600 dpi
Max Interpolated Scan Up to 1200 x 1200 dpi

And, the print scanner is also a 33.6K bps Fax Modem! (I know, who faxes these days, right? My bank wanted some documents faxed and it was a PITA!)

Last edit: I can’t fax anyway, no land line, but still the other scanner /w printer might be a better deal.

Thanks for that info! I’m on the hunt for a portable scanner to take to family reunions to scan photos on the spot. My very large extended family (25 siblings total between my mother’s parents alone!) live coast to coast but we gather every two years and I swore last time I’d bring a scanner in 2018. If anyone has any suggestions or thoughts I’d be ever so grateful! (MacBook, iPad etc. here)

Two differences that might lead one to go with the currently cheaper(it has gone for $100) device: 1) duplex scanning. I want this feature. Rearranging pages is a pain I’d rather skip.
2) Smaller footprint and designed to be portable.

If I were ok with single page scans, and a device that stays in one place, the printer would be a better choice. 250 page feeder vs a 25 page feeder.
