I had the zin a few weeks ago and was not impressed. It tasted past its prime on the way to nothing. It might have been a bad bottle, I have not opened another one yet.
I purchased this last time it was up, and was very impressed. The zinfandel was better on the second day, still enjoyable on the third. Blend was good right after opening

Liking this. Not a typical Zin. Tart Cherry and berry, hints of wood, well balanced acid, no heat. Drinking like it’s quite young, would not have guessed it’s now 9 years after vintage; no hurry here at all. Just got three more.
Much appreciated. I must have opened a bad bottle. I will have to revisit it.
Many of his wines are atypical, and I’ve liked most of what I’ve tasted.
