I’m fairly new and bought 3 things now from woot. I was wondering:
What exactly is a WOOT OFF?
And what are the codes and how or where do you get them.
I really enjoy this board. I come here all the time, just don’t post much.
But I would greatly appreciate it if someone would help me. Thanks in advance.

Awoot-off is a thing that happens once a month or two, that is unexpected.
It is one after another products that stay on the board till they are gone. It lasts fron 12- 72 hours and the fun of it is that no one knows how long it will last, no one knows what the next woot will be, someimes there are awesome woots,…plus the forums during the woot-offs are fun.
Plus, I’m not sure you mean about …codes…

If by codes you mean smilies, look for the smilie forum. You can also generate some automatically by typing standard emoticans between brackets, or letters between brackets.
[ ] - gets you a smilie, take away the spaces
[ a ] - gets you an angel
have fun and play around. Go over to the Post whore forum to experiment, or the smilie forum. If you don’t want to post, hit preview to see what you get.
Yeah, come to the post whore board and lurk a while till you get the feel of things.
Don’t be put off by some of the snarky comments we make to each other, we’re all friends there. As long as you don’t say anything TOO mean, you’ll be fine.
another tip…in the “everything else” section , there is a forum called “posting 101”…those people(all just wooters, BTW), will answer any questions and help you as needed without being nasty about it.

I apologize for invading your forum up front, but feel this is worth while and will only take 15 seconds away from a chat.
Please donate any used pair of prescription glasses to help both children and adults that cannot afford clear vision, to see for the first time.
Not asking for money, just one pair (or as many as you can find laying around [h] ) to help people that cannot afford to see.
I will post pictures and stories from the Sonora, MX mission I will be on in September off site to show you what your contributions meant to the people in need.

I appreciate woot for allowing this to post, and the person with the most pairs sent in by Sept 12th, (nudge factor coming, and send them all together please, so they can be counted) will get a package worth over $500 including a new Home Toshiba DVD Recorder and Dell 5.1 speaker set. This comes out of my pocket; this is just one of many, and I do mean many, charities I try to support.
