BTW, rumor has it that @RogetRay is buying this for me as a goodbye gift.

I’ve owned the 70D for two years now shooting professional video. It’s an outstanding camera for the price. The lens that comes with this isn’t great but I don’t think you can find the body alone for less than this price right now.

I had to try!

This is the VLOG camera that Casey Neistat primarily uses on his Youtube channel. Amazing autofocus. Wonderful video quality.

I work with professional film and video equipment every day, and I can recommend the 70D just based off friend who rave about them. I’m not a fan of DSLRs but it’s a nice camera and it’s a good price for it now. The kit lens obviously is standard and not good glass, but it will get the job done.

I just bought this camera in October from Best buy. I spent about a week trying to find a better price but $1249 was the best I could do. Great camera and competes/beats a lot of the full frame DSLR’s in the same price range. Image quality is great, focus is fast, low light performance is very good and built in wifi makes transferring pictures to you phone easy. The app is kinda buggy but it works (has a hard time connecting to the camera sometimes). Overall woot has ruined my xmas by offering this at such a discounted price. I was at least hoping this was a refurb so I could sleep at night convincing myself I got a good deal but this is just a slap in the face to my week long price search. Once again woot you win…

Oh I bought the one with the better lens. Still a good price on woot but I can sleep now :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve been eyeballing this model for quite some time as an upgrade from my 650D.

while doing some comparison shopping, i found you can get the 70D body only for $799 new, just in case you’re upgrading and want to save $50, and not have yet another 18-55 lens laying around.

This is a GREAT deal for NEW, Lens + Body. I’m considering pulling the trigger, then I got a backup lens too.

I shoot professionally with my 650D, this would be a huge upgrade.

This is a fantastic camera at an unbelievable price, but full frame cameras are a step up. You simply can’t fool physics.

$650 for a refurb direct from Canon. Same warranty too. http://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/catalog/eos-70d-18-55mm-is-stm-kit-refurbished-camera

[MOD EDIT: Offer is refurb; today’s Sellout is NEW]

I JUST found this as well and was just coming back to post the same thing.

Also, the refurb canon direct sale ends tomorrow (Nov 30)… quick decisions! ARRGGGGGG!!

yeah - caught the canon T5i refurb deal.

I have this camera and love it. I just need to add my experience with it. I live in Florida, lots of bright sunny weather and if you take photos with light backgrounds like, sand, water and pea rock it’s just too much light. The camera does best in low light situations on automatic. I’ve been walking on trails in the woods and it takes incredible photos with the light available flash rarely needed. One other problem that has occurred to several people is the lens coming off. If you hold onto the lens while carrying or just moving around not taking photos (as I must do)my thumb must be able to rest on the lock release and off pops the lens. The first time I was just dumbfounded by it, thought it was a fluke and then it happened again and I figured out what I was doing to make it happen. I have and used the 40D for years without that ever happening. Just a heads up!

Put a polarizing filter on your lens.
