Cavedoni Botte Piccola Italian Balsamic

Whew, got that comment out of the way early in the day. Have to have at least one a day.

Edit: Ooooh, we got two!

The irony of your comment around these comments is palpable. We’re you even around in the “old days” of woot??
There’s a reason old-timers long for the way things were. When these comments finally cease it merely means you’ve lost all of us that have been here since the beginnings of Woot!. Actual “deals” on merchandise worth buying are few compared to feel that this place is a clearinghouse for crap they can’t move on Amazon. There’s now 11 times the .woot websites and I buy 1/10th as frequently as I used to…

And look - there’s a new kid on the block selling wine! (the real reason I stopped in in the first place)
$7 off prices in the wild - and free shipping on half-cases or larger.

Yugster Wine Deals

This is great stuff - I’ve bought a few times.

It took me forever to actually try it on vanilla ice cream and strawberries as suggested here 'cause it just sounded gross - but it’s pretty amazing. Try it.

TT-Sorry but I agree with them.

These comments are not directed at you but when you have wooters that have bot over 100 woots each thru the years that are expressing these feelings maybe there is some validity to them.

Great item by the way.

Oh, I know. No worries. It was different when we were the only game in town. There’s a lot of competition now with other flash sites. Makes those deals harder to find but our buyers work hard. WD in particular.

That’s actually why I’ve quieted down…I’m rarely here and very, very rarely buy. Each time a big step was made that I felt seriously hurt my inclination to participate…I voiced the opinion and tried to explain why. Stupid waste of energy.

This is just the training wheels version of genuine balsamic. One must go to Modena to enjoy the real thing (or pay between $150-$350 for a 100ml bottle) It’s good stuff, but there’s also better out there.

In for 3, try it on roasted asparagus.

Make that 2 :frowning:

Anyone know what the shelf life is on an unopened bottle of this? I have two in the cabinet that I bought a while back but just simply forgot to use. I was waiting for the right occasion to break it out and start using but it just simply slipped my mind that they were still there.

Absolutely fantastic stuff. I stocked up last time and am still in the money, as it were, so hopefully I won’t run out before next time it shows up. This balsamic is worth every penny. Get some.

I think it lasts forever. My open bottle lasted 2-years before I finished it. It was still good.

A goodly while, for sure. Previously I’ve stocked up enough to be opening a bottle over a year after purchase, with no apparent degradation; and I’d assume it can go some multiple of that. I mean, they intentionally age it for several years before release.

This is good for the price, no doubt about it, even if it’s a step or two below the Tradizionale stuff aged for a quarter century. But I gotta say, it’s little brother the Il Caratello is really quite close. I stocked up when woot offered it in December at half this price, and find it’s a completely adequate substitute for salads - which is a good thing in a household where two thirds of the adults glug this stuff on as if trying to drown that pesky lettuce lest it get up and walk off the table. We’ve had a few different guests ooh and ah over the humble Caratello.

Never thought I’d see so much bitching and moaning during a Cavedoni Balsamic deal that had not yet sold out!

The irony of your comment around these comments is palpable. I’d ask if you were around in the old days of Woot but I can hover over your name and see that you joined in 2008. The individual you were mocking joined 2 years before you so yeah, she was around in the old days.

Lots of things have changed in the nearly 11 years since Woot launched. One big change is that forum participation is down everywhere. Why use a forum when you can tweet or post to facebook?

Your assumption that a decrease in complaints by old Wooters is an indication of a business suffering or less active members is baseless, don’t be fooled by your own confirmation bias. Lots of us real old wooters are still here, we just don’t care to keep popping up to school you newbs.

Does it go bad? I have an old bottle in the cupboard too. I thought balsamic was something that would keep for years.

I just opened my last bottle that I purchased from the first time this was offered years ago and it tastes just as good as the other bottle I opened when I first got them. How long ago was the first offering?

Says the wooter who has bought 3-9 items since 2004.

Woot pretty much lost me when they stopped the $5.00 shipping per day. I understand why they did it but it makes the smaller deals much less of a deal.

Still look almost every day and still buy, just not as often.

Adding to the amazing comments… I have to laugh at the how long will this last comments. They sell 100+ yr old basalmic.

I’ve got some of this from first offering, still great. Going to pick up some for gifts

This is great stuff! I still have an unopened bottle from a couple of years ago and an opened one still going strong. One of my favorite things to drizzle this over is a pear and roasted beet salad with asiago cheese shavings. Good stuff!

In for 2. That’s all I have ta say.

Can’t say enough good things about this stuff. Makes almost everything taste better.Just finished the bottle I bought from woot! a little over two years ago. Was sweating the possibility of going through withdrawal because I just couldn’t spend over $60 on one bottle (strangely, I’m the only user in my house). Got a mediocre substitute for $35 on Amazon, but alas, woot! to my rescue…In for two!
