I prefer to line my grill with dollar bills. It gives my lobster tails a nice woody flavor, and costs less than cedar.

I was all in for 3 of these until I read the description. The title says “Cedar Grilling Planks - 18 Pack”. It should say “Cedar Grilling Wraps and Planks”. I want 18 planks, not 6…

I’ve not used the planks, but similar papers only need a 10 to 20 minute soak. GREAT for things like salmon filets- holds herbs/marinades/rubs/whatever on the meat and keeps things from getting over cooked.

Because BLECh…Overcooked salmon is kinda gross.

U need to move them so they are not directly over the fire or the hottest part of the grill, cause they will dry out and catch fire.

I did that too. It was a gas grill, I had the planks on over the right side burners (which were off) and had the left side burners on.

I still ended up cooking on them and eating the food. But I had to watch them, and spray then with a squirt bottle during the entire cooking.

I think what we figured out was there was a bit of grease below, which had caught on fire, and then it caught the wood on fire.
