Time to learn all about Centon

How is this a great deal?
$50 (+shipping) for 5 x 32GB USB? same price or lower for sticks from Microcenter, BestBuy etc… Probably better quality than Centon - and you can buy as many as you need, don’t need to buy 5 at a time.
I don’t get it…

At a quick glance, I see nearly comparable prices at Best Buy and Microcenter on USB 2.0 thumb drives, but not on USB 3.0 thumb drives. But maybe I’m doing it wrong.

You are doing it right. They are mistaken about the pricing. Cheapest I see anywhere for a 64gb usb3 is around $20.

5 pack now bc they arent good. I had one, worked great… twice. Now it isn’t recognized by any OS… it’s a brick

Utter garbage. Run away, run far away. Bought 2, both dead within a month.

I have a drawer full of flash drives of all brands, including Centon, some of them are nearly 10 years old,NEVER have had one to fail.

Centon is one brand I would NEVER buy again. I bought two USB flash drives from a previous Woot and both were unusable after a single write. Do a search on Centon USB drives before you click on this one. I probably have a dozen other USB flash drives from various manufacturers and none have failed like these Centon drives. There’s a reason they keep showing up on Woot.

Winner gets a free Centon USB drive. Loser gets a free Centon USB drive multi pack.

Let’s be honest: This isn’t for a 5-pack of USB drives. When you write something to one of these, you’re going to have to plug all 5 into the port(s) and write the same thing to all of them, with the hopes that when you wish to retrieve that data at a later time, one of them might still be functional.

This is really just for one USB stick and some insurance.

I like the way you think.

Bought 2 of these last time. One of them failed the first time I used it. It overheats; the glue that holds the case on melted because of it. I zip-tied a stack of pennies to the memory chip, and it is usable, but ridiculous. The other still works, as far as I know, but I’m not going to test my luck with it.

I found the perfect solution, just zip tie this onto it.

Don’t buy for the love of goodness sake. mine and countess others stop working in couple weeks. takes forever to get a replacement from the company. please don’t buy!!!

I just don’t get why woot keeps offering these things. Centon is the King of Shaves razor equivalent to USB drives. Maybe I can shave with them, because I sure as *ell wouldn’t trust them as a USB drive.

Same experience here. One write and it stopped working. Woot did refund me which was nice, but I wouldn’t suggest anyone consider these products.

I went out on a limb and bought two when Woot had them last year. I have been using them frequently for the past 6 months and had no issue. I did do a complete reformat on each drive when I got them which took a few hours, but they have been fast and reliable.

Well put. I’d be curious to know whether these are genuinely USB3, or just use the blue plastic.

Smells like the $25, 256GB microSD cards the mothership still sells despite all the negative reviews and/or the fact that they don’t exist yet.
