Time to learn all about Centon

These write speeds are pretty bad, otherwise I’d be all over this :c

Comments/Discussion on the 64GB from June’s sale

bought the 128gb in dec., already a brick, do not buy. v… poor quality

Even if the write speeds were good, the quality control on these is awful. I bought 2 of these and they both failed within a month. If you check out customer reviews for their USB drives you will confirm high failure rates.
Below is a link for a USB 2.0 drive that I guarantee has better transfer rates and definitely better quality than this USB 3.0. The memory controller and quality of memory play a vital role in transfer speed, it’s not just about changing the bus speed. If you go with a USB 3.0 drive, spend a few more bucks on something that has decent reviews and better QC.

They suck and horrible customer service! I bought the 128 gig and spent a bunch of time loading all my data to it. A week later the damn thing won’t read on any of my pc’s. Then I had to wait and keep emailing Centon for a return authorization for a replacement for over a month! I’ve finally sent it back for a replacement and not very optimistic that I’ll ever get it. And even if I do I’m totally hesitant to save my important data to it now. I was a couple days too late to ask for a refund from Woot so had to deal with Centon. Just saying!

centon is garbage, my 32gb 2.0 that i got from here failed within a month of normal use

My 64GB drive has worked fine since I got it. Now I’m only USB 2.0, so maybe that makes a difference, but I’ve had OK luck with these.

Meh.com had these in 128GB for $30 last Saturday (free VMP shipping). Just sayin’…

I purchased the 128gb back during the last sale (December I think, it was 10 bucks more then), and it was dead on arrival. I’ve been in touch with Centon for almost a month now to get it replaced - one response telling me to RMA and then nothing after completing the RMA form. If you call their phone number it just rings for about 5 minutes and hangs up.

One of the reasons I purchased this is their lifetime warranty - only they don’t seem to acknowledge contact to fulfill their promise.

Woot, think about doing business with these guys, they suck.

This is the USB flash drive equivalent of the King of Shaves. Centon is probably Remington’s electronics division.

Mine turns into a brick whenever it gets warm. Should have just picked up a Sandisk from amazon.

I bought 3 of the 128GB versions about two months ago. All three have failed.

Garbage

So no comment from woot then? Thanks for nothing Thunderthighs…

Yeah, getting the impression Woot got a truckload of Centon stuff thrown in for free when they got their Pyle stuff. They’re tossing their SD cards over on electronics.woot as well. When it comes to these things you’re truly getting what you paid for, and remind me of Dollar Store junk.

I bought the 128GB model, it showed up today. Loaded about 100GB worth of music on it, plugged it into my car, played for a few minutes, shut car off. Came back 2 hours later, the drive was no longer detected. 3 different PC’s aren’t detecting it, totally dead. RMA’ing it. Avoid.

Failed within 3 weeks. Not good.

I purchased two 128G drives and they both failed within several weeks. Returning to Centon. Bummer.
