Bought this in a prior woot.
We need a slicer for shabu shabu and it works great for this purpose as long as the meat is almost completely frozen. with this method you can get paper thin slices that cook instantly in a hotpot.
The bad…it’s a pain in the ass to clean. you have to remove the blade and clean every nook and cranny on the slicer. The back of the blade/connection area is coated with what looks like white lithium grease.
The only other gripe is the delivery of the slice, you cant fit a plate behind or under the slicer, and the included tray doesn’t seem to actually be configured to fit in the “catch area”. Slices stick to the back of the slicer/motor housing, so you’re basically catching all the slices in your hand, or you’re peeling them off the back of the slicer as you go. it just takes a little practice and you can slice a 3lb roast in consistent thin slices in a minute.
a very good home slicer. Good to note that with no size reference in the photos, this is NOT a large slicer like you see at the deli, the blade diam is 7" so it might fit in a cabinet but I store mine in a basement pantry.
