Clearance Tab 'Clutter'

This is definitely a personal peeve, but maybe there are other Wooters that have been bothered by this.

Whenever there is a Clearance Tab deal with multiple categories within itself, like Markdown Mania right now, I end up seeing multiple links for the multiple categories. This makes it harder to see if there are other Clearance categories at the same time. Would it be possible to have just the main deal page linked in the Clearance Tab?

So instead of seeing this:
Markdown Mania Under $5
Markdown Mania Under $10
Markdown Mania Under $25
… and so on.

We’d just see:
Markdown Mania
Dealmegaddon
Warehouse Cleanout
… and so on.

On Mobile we can scroll through the other deals, but on the browser version, we’re limited to whatever fits on the dropdown tab. I don’t know if those tabs can be adjusted to hold more/less depending on need, but I often feel like they’re not showing all the deals available because of the multiple categories in a deal.

OR

When you click on the Clearance Tab, they could have deal links similar to the other main category pages. “Home and Kitchen” you can click into ‘Beauty’, ‘Healthy and Personal Care’, ‘Lighting and Fans’, etc. Clearance is just an endless scroll-feed of individual items. But the different deal categories could be placed there, allowing Wooters to easily find all the new deals. And below those boxes could still be the endless scroll-feed.

The Garage Sales for instance aren’t usually a problem in this regard, because the smaller categories within it are split up and added to the other appropriate main sale tabs.

Hello. Thanks for the feedback and yeah, it’s kind of a mess.

The short answer is that there’s nothing we can do about it right now.

It’s caused by us using our site in a way for which it wasn’t designed.

Internally, the events that link to sub events (e.g. Markdown Mania) are called “Cluster Pluses”. Sometimes “Pluses” is replaced with another word but I digress.

The sub events that a Cluster Plus link to can be a Plus Event (shows on site) or a VIPPlus (doesn’t show on site). Problem with making it a VIPPlus is that they don’t get discussion threads because it’s VIP and supposed to be SECRET! So, to get threads, we have to make it a plus event which means it shows up on that flyout box you’re talking about.

TL;DR: Sorry but it can’t be fixed because we’re woot.

Ah, dang. The technicals of it might be lost on me, but at least the concept as a whole makes sense. I appreciate your response, thank you!
