Computers For The Gaming

None of these are particularly good gaming computers. Save money and wait for an IBuypower/Cyberpower sale.

The most expensive of the Alienware systems would be a terrific Development machine and/or audio production system for use with ProTools though. So it’s by no means a useless piece of hardware.

I have noticed a few of you having problems with overheating! I am typing this from my 14 inch Alienware that my work provides and I use a cooling pad underneath my laptop! Were the individuals that had overheating issues using cooling pads or gaming without?

I had a M14X R2 with 2 RAID Striped 500 GB drives, the I7-3840QM processor and 16 gigs of ram and that thing never overheated and I never used a cooling pad.

I will also mention that I am not a gamer. I did not purchase a machine with RAID Drives to play games, so I never really taxed the video cards which apparently (based on all the overheating posts) create a lot of heat.

This overheating problem sounds like a gamer’s-only issue. So if you’re like me and you want a high power developers system / audio production system, these Alienware systems run a supported operating system and supported video card for Pro Tools. I’ve never seen a Windows machine run it as smoothly as the Alienware machines do.

Does the 18" alienware lappy have an anti-glare(matte) screen? I cannot seem to find the info anywhere
