I honestly thought this was ductless. But a review revealed it does have window parts.

I’ve got an older model of this and it’s been great for my use. We have way too much house since the kids have gone and I use it upstairs in my office when I’m up there instead of heating or cooling the entire upper floor. I’ve used it for 3 or 4 years now.

Hello,
how do you drain the water?it says it does not come with a drain hose so wondering if that’s an option because there’s an optional method?

If you didn’t vent the hot air then the room would simply keep getting warmer. It is just science. :slight_smile:

In the description it reads, “water must be manually drained.” I’m assuming there is a reservoir, but there also may be a drain plug that can be hooked up to a hose.
I’m wondering what size the drain reservoir is.

You only drain these things at end of season to get rid of whatever little water hasn’t already been evaporated. The rest is sprayed over the coil for added evaporative cooling. There’s a little black nub on top of the drain on the back. You can drain it into a cookie sheet or the like (the drain is close to the ground.)

I haven’t used this specific one but I have used similar ones. The idea of it using the water works on a dry hot day, but on really humid nights you have to drain it and it is not easy. I have it sitting on a step ladder with a bucket under it. Normally there is almost nothing, but I had it shut off multiple times throughout a really humid night due to being full of water. Usually happens once or twice a year at most, but it annoying when it does. You have been warned…

the spec list it as single hose vent system… still zero amps though. i want to put this in a small metal container we have at work with limited outlets, i don’t want to overload and keep tripping the circuit. at 14K btu i’ll assume it’s going to be too much power for my needs :frowning:
