Anyone know how long the connecting pipes are and if they will reach to a second story installation?
16 feet seems the standard, but stuff like this lands on Woot many times due to standard nonconformity. Wish I were more help specifically. This is a multi branded product, so finding it other places is difficult by name. You might try Google image lookup for matching across other names for more information.
You can find the details on p14 of the operating manual pdf. It indicates both the provided pipe length as well as the max length AND max vertical height, all of which vary by model.
BTW the variation is both based on the size of the unit (the 4 offered here), and it also indicates that it varies based on the model type: “on/off” vs “inverter”. That distinction is not elaborated on otherwise in the manual, but the descriptions offered here on woot for all four models say “inverter”.
I’m just a fellow reader, no more familiar with this unit than what I’ve read today. I’ve also never installed a minisplit, though I run one (different model and brand). And it is indeed installed on my second floor while the outdoor unit is at ground level outside the basement, so about 25 feet vertical distance–just below the 32’ max of the largest of these 4 units, but exceeding the max for the smaller ones.
So the point is: consider not just the length of pipe offered but those other two max lengths.
Refrigerant more than likely being phased out here in these units. Repairs will be expensive if even they make the refrigerant in the future which i doubt. These machines are being sold to get rid of old stock.
