Copa Del Rey Chilean Cabernet (6)

I find it harder and harder to drink ‘low end’ Cabernet. SWMBO doesn’t like young Cabernet at all, and I have always preferred other red wines meant to be drunk young for ‘everyday’ sippers,’ especially Zinfandel when it’s made in a ‘fresh fruit’ style rather than an ‘almost overripe’ to ‘overripe’ style that predominates today. As I always say, good Cab takes patience and time, the better part of (at least) a decade from vintage, before it’s ready to drink. Woot has had so much good, ageworthy, Cab over the past few years, at very good to excellent prices, that I’ve laid a fair bit in and I can be selective.
