Failiest fail of all write-up fails. Note to woot this product is not actually a lock of any kind.
So these are “virtually maintenance”? I’m sorry, I can’t buy them, then. My wife keeps asking me to do “real” maintenance.
Haha! Thanks for pointing that out. I’m sure whoever wrote this will be mega-blushing when they learn about their mistake.
I think it’s supposed to say “Virtually Maintenance Free” but since your wife wants you to do maintenance all the time these maintenance free tools are probably not what you’re looking for.
These things are actually really cool and I’ve been wanting to try them for awhile! They are also based out of Montana, where I live!
They use a totally new type of electric motor.
From the website;
“CORE’s patented technology eliminates the need for wire windings and iron laminations used in conventional motors, by embedding copper-etched conductors into a multi-layered printed circuit board to form a stator that works in conjunction with permanent magnets.”
" In fact, CORE Technology generates the highest energy factor per weight of any existing motor or engine, and does it at one-third to one-fifth the size, while requiring significantly fewer raw materials."
Just got in on this. Got the core tool and the trimmer attachment. Looks like a really good deal. Nearly half off current Amazon price for these items.
The 3 hour battery charge is a bummer. I found that you can pick up a “One Hour Rapid” charger on Amazon for around $90
The RPMs of the trimmer are pretty impressive: 5000rpm on eco mode and 7000rpm on fast mode. All this out of 18volts. Anyone know what the torque specs are?
I really need a brushcutter attachment. Either that or I’d like to know if its possible to remove the bump head and bolt on a blade.
I still don’t bite off on it. If you actually need all these attachments, and are willing to spend $250-300 anyway, you’re always better off with gas. Mower power, better engines.
Incredible shipping time. I ordered it on Saturday night and it was on my front porch on Tuesday morning.
So far so good. This trimmer is a quiet beast. Has mowed down everything I’ve put in front of it.
The 3 hour battery charge to begin was a bit of a drag. I’ma have to buy a backup battery I guess. For the price of a backup battery, I could have purchased a whole powerhead, battery and charger on the Woot. Wish I’d done it.
Not great so far. I ordered it and the trimmer attachment was delivered, but the rest of the complete order I placed is no where to be found…
Uh Oh! That sounds unfortunate. I’m sorry to hear about that. If you haven’t already, please use the Support Form linked at the top of the page to contact customer support for assistance.
My complete order is suppose to come tomorrow in one package. I hope it’s as good as the reviews say. There’s not a lot of info out there. We’ll see…
Don’t hold your breath! The crooks at Woot have done it again! I got the trimmer attachment only as well. Then an email saying they ran out and a $50 refund! On a $268 order!! Woot stole my money!
I bet you get the trimmer attachment and $50
I have emailed, but gotten no response yet.
And with the above posts, this doesn’t sound so great… I can’t use just a trimmer attachment as I am sure you all can’t either. Gonna be a waste of $250!!! Or a $250 paperweight… I hope that’s not the case.
EDIT: It has been over the 24 hour stated time that the support link says I will hear back… of course no answer.
I’m sorry to hear that. They may be backed up with the holiday weekend coming up. I’ll shoot them an email to try and help you out.
But don’t forget to check your Spam folder. Lots of times our support emails get caught in there.
Update: I only got the trimmer attachment. I had ordered the complete set. I am getting pretty pissed off. I sent an email to Woot support. Let’s see where that goes.
If that’s all I get, it’s mail fraud. So far, you’re right. If you end up being right in the end, that will be the last dollar of mine Woot sees.
