Welcome Stephen! Thanks for joining us; we’re excited to feature these Napa reds on Woot!
There are a few Cab Franc fans amongst us… anything you can tell us about this particular Cab Franc?
Seems like all is quiet at wine woot. Thought we might have some follow-up questions on the Cabernet Franc from the banter last time around… Any thoughts from woot on 100% Cabernet Franc from Oak Knoll District? We’ve enjoyed the wine, how about you all?
I think of the wine as red and blue fruited - combination of raspberry, sweet rhubarb with some blueberry layered on top. Texture is really striking to me as silky smooth with a medium rich finish. (posted from Virgin Airways flight from SF to DC - got to love it).
These big red wines are really in their stride. A few years into the library so still rich and vibrant but with those few years of age that trade pure power for depth, range and finesse - think rock song played by an orchestra instead of a ‘band’.
I missed the Monticello Cab Franc when it was previously offered on wine.woot but it got such good reviews that I have been patiently waiting for it to come back.

Your wines are fantastic. I have been visiting and purchasing your wines for over 20 years since I met Mark as a student of mine at Georgetown - keep up the great work.
How much more cellar time can the 2005 and 2006 Cabs take? Looks like the 2005 is a drink now according to CT and the 06 can take some more time…On the fence till I hear more. Thanks!
