One must appease the cat gods after all. Fabulous shirt!
I’m so glad this won! The Egyptian cat goddess Bastet is purring in her tomb tonight.
I bet they liked mummy wrappings, too.
Quick, someone translate the hieroglyphs!
“I can has toyz?”
Oh man, this is fantastic! Except — and I know I’m not being helpful here, but — to me, it would be so much better without the date and caption at the top. Yes, I know this was a “date” derby, so rules are rules. Nothing against the creator of this shirt, obviously. Just saying, Dear Woot, that I think it lessens the joke by “explaining” it, instead of letting the awesome design speak for itself. I so completely would have bought one… or three, even, but I don’t think I can bring myself to doing that now. Sigh. Maybe if it were a tote… (Hint hint.)
Anyway, again, great job, jnolen85. I really do mean that.
Yep. Was about to click to buy, then realized the caption was part of the graphics.
Lose the caption and I’ll order it.

Agreed - I LOVE the graphic but when I saw the date I just started thinking about Caesar invading Britain. Because yes, I am that person. It really does take away from an awesome piece of art.
Question. When you look at the close up of the design the caption doesn’t appear to be in the same font as shown on the shirt in full view. That one appears more stylized. Which is the correct font?
Or maybe I am just seeing things.
55 B.C. is a little more early Roman Empire than Ancient Egypt isn’t it?

Meh, kind of on the edge of a changing world I suppose…
My first thought as well. 300 or 1000 or more BC might have been better.
I’d buy one if the caption wasn’t there. = /
