Can you elaborate on the leaving it cocked? Also, do you know how much quieter it is? I’m looking to get something for my parents to rid themselves of pesky chipmunks but don’t want to alarm the neighbors.

The neighbors will still hear it, but it is quieter than my Gamo spring rifle. This gun would pass through a chipper or two and the pellet will keep going, so be careful!

fun little plinker. won’t kill anything bigger than a squirrel. i’ve tagged a groundhog in the head from 20yds and didn’t kill it. i shot another one 4 times in the body, and he just kept walking away. he jumped each time, but didn’t die. i was even using hollowpoint hunting pellets.

How loud is this compared to a Crosman 2100 (pump air rifle)? My 2100 is rated at ~750 fps and I’ve managed to kill more than 25 pigeons and one rabbit on and around my house.

I’m mainly looking at something that is as quiet or just slightly louder with more killing power.

I’ve read that some of the NP rifles can shoot through birds–which is something I’d rather avoid since I don’t want to be breaking windows in the neighborhood.
