This is listed at a 12 pc set, but the description only outlines 6 knives. What else comes with the set?
The Blade guards are the other pieces.
Are these knives dish washer safe? And are the blades and handles made of the same metal material?

Handwashing is recommended.
Dishwashing detergent is very abrasive and will dull knives over time.
I have a similar set and the handles are plastic.
