I’ve never bought any Casserole kitchen items like this.

Anybody know what these are capable of and useful in terms of cooking?

These are great for making bread with a nice crisp crust. look up the NYTimes No-Knead Bread recipe.

I have a 7 quart, also bought on Woot. I use it to roast a whole pork butt shoulder, and they come out amazing. We enjoy at least five meals from a $12 cut of meat. This one is a bit smaller. Once you start using it, it will be your go-to pot for just about everything. Take care to clean it properly (no harsh chemicals or scrubbers; let burnt on food soak and it wipes clean) and it will last more than a lifetime.
