Sorry for the trouble, guys! Devs are jumping in.

** Crap! I’m an idiot and linked to a similar but different set. Sorry for the confusion.

In any case, I’m leaving the link up because I learned a lot about what to think about when investing in stovetop cookware. **

Wow!

This Amazon Review just about convinced me to get some pots and pans that 20 minutes ago I didn’t even think I needed and now I believe I can’t live without.

Very thorough and informative, even if you don’t buy one of these sets here.

1where is the manufactured?

We bought set like these, from Woot, they are terrible. You can’t clean them, they don’t warm up fast. Surface came off. They do not honor warranty. We gave them away. Bought Revereware

I am trying to find out what the difference is between the one posted here and the one on amazon (Cuisinart MCP-12 MultiClad Pro Stainless Steel 12-Piece Cookware Set) - the numbers are different. I can’t find anything on the ones posted here on Woot except that they seem to be sold by discount places only.

A set “like these” or a set EXACTLY like these? You comment was anything but helpful.

I’m confused by the pictures. The Tri-Poly says it doesn’t have a sauté pan, but does have a strainer insert. But the pictures show no insert and a sauté pan? I do a lot of “one pan” meals that I don’t really like a skillet for. My sauté is my “go to” pan as it were for the high sides. In fact in any set it’s the first one to wear out (I’m 2 sautés deep thusfar, a non-stick and a ceramic coated, the former is done, the latter almost, while the rest of my cookware looks brand new.)
I’m thinking stainless now, but want to make sure the set I buy has it.

With respect to the WMCS-12 12-Piece TriPly Stainless Cookware Set, it states that it’s “induction ready”. Does that mean it can be used on induction cooktops, or that other steps need to be taken before using it on an induction cooktop?

They can be used on induction cooktops. As an aside, I bought the set last October on Woot (for $20 more – scoundrels!) and have been very happy with it, so definitely recommended.

In for one.

I figure it’s about time I had a quality set of cookware. (Not that the non-stick T-Fal set I’ve been using for the past 15 years or so is bad, by any means.)

Ok… found this:
http://home.woot.com/forums/viewpost.aspx?postid=6695184

I bought the WMCS-12 set during a recent Woot-Off, and have a couple MCP sauce pans. This set is very similar to the MCP set, differences are:
[]WMCS-12 are polished, MCP is brushed
[
]WMCS-12 handles are more rounded than MCP
[]WMCS-12 sauce pans are smaller 1.5 + 2.5 qt vs 1.5 + 3 qt(MCP)
[
]WMCS-12 pots have volume markings on the inside, MCP does not
[]WMCS-12 lids have more rounded handles (otherwise the same)
[
]The listed 3qt sauce pan is a saute pan (MCP is 3.5qt), what you see in the picture is what you will actually receive.
So far I am very pleased with the set and would recommend them since they have a significant discount over the MCP sets. FYI, the covers will also fit the skillets.

The devil is in details:
For the set of 12 triply, it’s serial number is WMCI-12, where as the one on Amazon Multiclad Pro has serial number MCP-12. Quite sure WMCI is not Pro grade otherwise it should be WMCP. Something fishy, I m not buying as I was looking for a deal on Multiclad Pro. Also the sizes of two pans are different and there is no strainer
