The FR701550 fryer is fantastic. I bought it about a month ago. After you are done frying you hit the switch and it drains so you can clean out your fryer easier. Everything (except the immersible part) is dish washer safe.
Got mine on sale for about $10 more at Bed Bath and Beyond.
There are some reviews about leaks. I have not had that problem. There is a little valve to close off the oil container that needs to be open or else it doesn’t drain right and might spill everywhere.
@thepooda, I’m always looking for solid deep fryers, but that leaking thing is kinda scary. 350+ degree oil spilling on the feet doesn’t sound very fun.
'Not sure if they are paying that guy for that Sedona “review”, but if so, it isn’t enough. Superb salesmanship without it feeling like “sales”. I felt the pull to peek at it simply due to his eccentric appearance.
Note this Woot refurb price appears to be half what they’re going for new, but you give up a 5 year warranty for a 90-day Woot warranty if that matters.
I have the Emeril (not elite) that I got from a thrift store here in like new condition for $10. It is fantastic! We have had it for about two years with no issues.
I bought the Sedona approx 1 1/2yrs ago and love it I bought it brand new at full price and even then it was well worth the investment at this price it’s a steal. You can run only half the unit (2)fans instead of 4 if you’re only dehydrating a small batch to conserve power.
Sears offers the Presto ProFry Stainless Steel Immersion Element Deep Fryer, model no. 5461, for $27.99. Opt for in-store pickup to dodge the $5.75 shipping charge. That’s $7 under our mention from last week and the lowest price we could find now by $19. It features an 1,800-watt immersion element and digital display
11/2014 Bought the refurbed’ Sedona dehydrator SD-P9000 $180.
Unit looks un-touched, with all new trays, mesh sheets (9) and solid sheet inserts (3). We just dehydrated 4+ pounds of jerky in 9 hours at 155 degrees. The unit had very even drying, and very quiet fans. At $180 it was a fantastic deal.
