I’ve had the SD version of this running for several months. I was leery of it but thought I would give it a shot. It was easy to set up and has been running with no intervention ever since. I can access from my phone, move it around, see what the dog is up to remotely. 9/10 would buy again.
I bought three of the Pipcam 8 models on WOOT several months ago. Setting them up is actually rather easy, once you realize that the camera needs to be directly wired to your router for that step. Then you just need to use the app, making sure you’re connected to the your router’s wifi network. Mine work great.
Worse purchase I’ve made from Woot. Difficult setup with home network, poor/too many app’s on internet. Just NOT a good product. Poorly written instructions, etc. Don’t buy.
These are junk. I bought two thinking it was a good deal. U can buy similar all over amazon and elsewhere for $55-80… First one connected initially then failed even after resets…first one did seem to have current firmware. Second never connected and reset button doesn’t work. I have 5 others from x10 etc and they all work fine. Im a network engineer so the network isn’t the prob. Easy setup if they work. Initial email to Woot for refund says to deal with Pyle. That doesn’t fly with me at all. Not happening.
How do you turn on night-vision? The mole I bought previously allows you to turn it on 24-hours (instead of automatically turning on/off based on light). How do I do that here? (My camera’s perspective/angle is facing some oncoming light that partially shines on the camera and makes everything look dark… I need the infrared to see the foreground better. (This worked fine when my previous woot Mole camera was in that same spot).
