I bought one the last time it was on Woot.

All I can say is WOW! It is the most impressively bad product I have purchased in recent memory.

At first… how cool, the color changes from blue to red when the water gets warm. How slick! Nice bit of ambiance.

But then…

About 2 weeks later…

eeeeeeeeeeeee rrrrrrrrr eeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeee rrrrrrrrr

The thing starts screaming like the bearing in the motor was already giving up the ghost. WTF? And what happened to the light?

No… wait… It’s working again…

eeeeeeeeeeeee rrrrrrrrr eeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeee rrrrrrrrr

No… Wait… It’s not working…

Eventually, the screaming died down to a mere occasional bout, and the LEDs somehow manage to put out a faint blue glow, no matter the temperature.

Bottom line, if you want a cool LED shower head, this one is awesome if you only plan to use it for a couple of weeks total.

I’ve had the Oasis (non LED) shower head for about 8 months and it just started leaking out of the top. Cold water starts dripping around the corner and down onto me while I’m in the shower. Not comfortable.

I also got one of the LED models last time around. Slick as hell, at first, but then like the other poster after a week or so it started making a terrible whining noise, and the lights stopped working. I don’t have the time or money to replace it right now, and I like the large surface area it puts out, so I left it in place. After a while the whining died down, I guess the issue part is wearing down, but the lights still only flicker red and blue, regardless of water temp.

Steer clear of this thing, it is this cheap here for a reason, it appears to be garbage and someone is trying to unload a bunch of them!

Not interested based on the feedback, but I am curious: how is it powered? I’m assuming by battery, because I don’t think household 120VAC should come near the shower :-o

Can’t believe Woot leave these posts up cause it may not be good for sales, but heck - it really helped. If I did not read the post I would have been a sucker too. Thank you guys!

The LED lights run off a hydro electric generator built inside the showerhead. The sounds everyone is hearing are the turbine bearings wearing out and the spinning makes the sound.

Their cheap moderator monkeys are only able to catch four letter word issues. They can’t really be trained to take off every bad review their products get - then the reviews could be empty in a lot of cases :slight_smile: Plus I think that is called censorship…

But appreciate the honest review, I too was looking for LED one, but now I am thinking about the dual shower head one.

This is only a guess, but maybe it is powered by the moving water (turning a generator) which would explain the whining sound the other posters mentioned.

Yup (as posted above)

When it was working properly, I sure couldn’t hear the generator over the normal shower sound. But when it started to die, OMG!
