The pictures show the arms not having the typical velcro area for patches. The description and the vendor site shows the jacket with those patch areas. I would prefer is without the patches, do I trust the vendor site or the woot pictures?

Also interested in an answer to this question for the same reason. I’d prefer no patches. Would also prefer black  But I guess this deal is only for slate.

Well, I got mine in the mail yesterday (pretty speedy service for Woot!) and I have a answer and a comment.

The answer for the “where’s the hook and loop?” is “in the pocket of the jacket.” The pocket had two squares of fuzzy side hook and loop and a patch of fabric with two grommets to hold a LE badge. Getting the hook and loop onto the jacket means $20 bucks to the dry cleaner, which I don’t feel was part of the bargain.

Further, what Woot! lists as “slate” showed up in the box as something I would describe as “graphite.” Like the hook and loop it’s not a dealbreaker but I can’t say I’m thrilled.

Still, it’s a very nice jacket. I got a chance to try it out today due to a spring cold snap and it is both comfortable and warm. It does build up a bit of static charge, though, so expect some crackle when taking it off.
